Branding, Marketing and You
Branding, Marketing and You Since the beginning it has always been about you, but never about you! Quite the oxymoron. Might I suggest it is about how you make people feel? Speaking of which, I have been feeling overwhelmed and challenged to come up with my own brand and marketing language. This is so difficult. Mostly because, I think, I am too close to the subject (myself). Either you can learn to be more objective or you can enlist the help of those you know and trust. I have chosen the latter. Before you can truly begin marketing yourself, the owner of You, Inc, you will have to really sit down and figure out what you are currently known for and if that is what you do want to be known for. I dont need to tell you, but, this is SO difficult. There are lots of resources and exercises to take you through this process. Go read Career Distinction by William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson. 10 Steps to Uncovering and Building Your Authentic Personal Brand by Meg Guiseppi is a phenomenal post which so clearly lays out how! So it all starts with identifying brand. First things first! Dont skip this step. If you are looking for more information on personal branding, look over to the right at the sidebar (go to the very bottom) which lists sites Ive found to be helpful. Do you have any resources youve found helpful in pinpointing your brand?
